Researchers have demonstrated a novel attack exploiting DRAM scrambling to gain full control over a CPU's internal state, including encrypted memory and firmware. The technique bypasses hardware-level protections by reverse-engineering the scrambling algorithm used to obfuscate memory contents. This allows attackers to read, modify, and inject arbitrary code into otherwise secure regions. The vulnerability affects multiple processor generations and undermines trusted execution environments. Proof-of-concept exploits require physical access or kernel-level privileges. Vendors are working on mitigations, but the fundamental design flaw may require architectural changes.
